The story of Nicodemus tells how black Scott Countians courageously moved west in the face of adversity and started the safe haven community of Nicodemus.

Ira Massie: Scott County's Tobacco Pioneer, September - December 2024
Ira Massie, born on November 13th, 1919 in Stamping Ground, Kentucky is one of Scott County's most famous natives. He is most known for his nickname "Mr. Tobacco", derived from his many contributions to the industry through the tobacco field.

The 1974 Stamping Ground Tornado: 50 Years Later, April - September 2024
In 1974 the Super Outbreak of Tornadoes tore through Stamping Ground and caused waves of devastation. The Georgetown & Scott County Museum is commemorating this travesty for the 50th year anniversary.

Riding the Bluegrass Rails, May 2023 - January 2024
Georgetown and Scott County Museum presents The Scott County History of Trains and Railroads featuring many interesting artifacts from past depots and rail-lines that travelled through Scott County.
